The Zambia NGO WASH Forum is inviting applications for the position of Youth Communications Intern based in Lusaka, Zambia. About the Zambia NGO WASH Forum and the Internship

The Zambia NGO WASH Forum represents a coalition of 65 civil society organizations collaborating with the Zambian government and partners to uphold the human right to water and sanitation, and to promote a clean, healthy, and sustainable environment. In partnership with SNV, the Forum is currently implementing the Water Voices United Project—a four-year initiative supported by the European Union and Danish People’s Aid aimed at strengthening the role of WASH civil society organizations in governance and development.

The Youth Communications Intern will join the team for a six-month period, playing a key role in enhancing the Forum’s digital presence, managing social media platforms, and mobilizing youth participation within the WASH sector.

Key Responsibilities for Youth Communications Intern Jobs in Lusaka

  • Create, curate, and manage daily content across the NGO WASH Forum’s social media channels to increase youth engagement and visibility.
  • Highlight significant milestones, success stories, and youth-led initiatives related to the Water Voices United Project.
  • Draft clear and engaging digital updates, articles, reports, and newsletters focused on youth inclusion and WASH advocacy.
  • Provide advice to the Forum and project staff on youth activities and engagements relevant to the Water Voices United Project and the broader WASH sector in Zambia.

Qualifications and Eligibility

  • Must be a youth candidate.
  • Possess at least a Diploma or Degree in Social Sciences, Health Sciences, Communications/Journalism, or Information Technology from a recognized institution.
  • Demonstrated experience in media and communications, including managing institutional social media pages and strong written communication skills.
  • An active and positive social media presence is highly desirable.
  • This internship is exclusively open to candidates affiliated with fully registered Youth-Led or Media member organizations of the NGO WASH Forum, or prospective members who submitted applications before 30th March 2026.
