Be That Girl Foundation is seeking a dedicated Wellbeing Coordinator to join our team in Lusaka, Zambia. This full-time role offers an exciting opportunity for professionals passionate about advancing the sexual and reproductive health, mental wellbeing, and safety of adolescent girls and young women. As part of our Pathway Centre initiative, the Wellbeing Coordinator will play a crucial role in empowering young women to lead self-determined lives through comprehensive health education, counselling, and referral services.
About the Role: Wellbeing Coordinator Jobs in Lusaka
The Wellbeing Coordinator will be based on-site at the Pathway Centre in Lusaka and report directly to the BTG Pathway Centre Manager. This position involves designing and delivering group education sessions on sexual and reproductive health rights (SRHR), mental health, and gender-based violence (GBV) prevention, alongside providing confidential one-on-one counselling. The coordinator will also develop and maintain a robust referral network to ensure participants access essential health and psychosocial services.
Key Responsibilities
- Group Education: Develop and facilitate age-appropriate sessions covering SRHR, bodily autonomy, reproductive health, contraception, menstrual health, consent, healthy relationships, mental health awareness, stress management, emotional resilience, and GBV prevention.
- Individual Counselling: Provide trauma-informed, confidential counselling to help participants identify their health and psychosocial needs, develop personal health plans, and navigate sensitive issues.
- Referral Network Management: Establish and maintain partnerships with health facilities, youth-friendly clinics, GBV shelters, mental health services, and community counsellors to facilitate participant access to comprehensive care.
- Community Engagement: Collaborate with like-minded organizations, support community dialogues, and coordinate participation in GBV and mental health commemorative events.
- Case Management: Serve as the primary contact for GBV survivors among participants, maintaining confidential case files and coordinating appropriate referrals and follow-up support.
Qualifications and Experience
- Degree in Psychology, Counselling, Social Work, or related health/psychosocial field.
- Certification or specialised training in SRHR, family planning, adolescent health, trauma-informed care, GBV counselling, or psychosocial support (proficiency in both areas preferred).
- Minimum of four years’ experience delivering SRHR, psychosocial, GBV, or mental health education and counselling to adolescent girls and young women.
- Strong knowledge of Zambian health and education systems, including youth SRHR and referral services in Lusaka.
- Experience working in school or community settings and delivering group sessions is advantageous.

- Excellent facilitation and communication skills, especially on sensitive topics.
- Ability to create safe, trusting environments for open discussion.
- Strong networking and partnership-building capabilities.
- High degree of confidentiality, empathy, cultural sensitivity, and ethical conduct.
- Fluency in English and at least one local language (Nyanja or Bemba preferred).
- Passionate about advancing girls’ and young women’s SRHR, bodily autonomy, and mental wellbeing.
- Non-judgmental, patient, approachable, with strong personal integrity and emotional resilience.
- Team player committed to gender equality and multidisciplinary collaboration.
