Role Overview for Warehouse Supervisor Jobs in Lusaka

As a Warehouse Supervisor, you will be responsible for managing daily warehouse activities to ensure smooth and efficient operations. Your leadership will be critical in supervising warehouse assistants, maintaining strict adherence to safety protocols, and guaranteeing accurate order fulfillment in compliance with the Zambian Employment Code Act and local industrial regulations.

Key Responsibilities

• Stock & Order Preparation: Process waybills and Material Requisition Forms (MRFs), collaborating with various warehouse sections to stage goods accurately.
• Traffic & Dispatch Management: Coordinate vehicle access and yard traffic flow, directing delivery and collection trucks to loading bays in an orderly manner.
• Verification & Quality Control: Conduct double-check audits of staged items against waybills to confirm quantity and condition before final approval by the Operations Manager or Site Supervisor.
• Team Supervision & Loading: Lead warehouse assistants and loaders during loading and unloading, enforcing proper material handling to minimize damage.
• Housekeeping & Equipment Maintenance: Ensure staging areas, pallets, strapping belts, hand trucks, and other equipment are cleaned, secured, and neatly stored at shift end.
• HSE & Security Compliance: Enforce Health, Safety, and Environment protocols to maintain a zero-incident workplace; monitor warehouse activities to prevent shrinkage, theft, or unauthorized access.

Qualifications and Experience

• Education: Grade 12 Certificate with full credits including Mathematics and English. A Diploma in Purchasing and Supply (CIPS), Logistics and Transport (CILT), or equivalent qualification is preferred.
• Experience: Demonstrated experience in warehouse operations, dispatch management, or inventory control is essential.
• Skills: Strong numerical accuracy and stock counting abilities, excellent supervisory and communication skills, with a detail-oriented and accountable approach.
• Compliance Knowledge: Familiarity with Zambian workplace safety standards and statutory requirements such as NAPSA and NHIMA. Possession of a ZCILT License is required.
