Role Overview: Transport Logistics Officer Jobs in Lusaka

The Transport & Logistics Officer will oversee the entire supply chain process, ensuring that shipments reach their destinations securely and on schedule. This position involves supervising a team that includes Logistics Coordinators, Dispatch professionals, and Truck Drivers, while maintaining the quality and efficiency of all transportation activities.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan and organize transportation activities, including the storage of goods and management of shipment information from origin to delivery.
• Coordinate and track the movement of goods through established logistics pathways to ensure timely delivery.
• Implement logistics plans to meet delivery schedules and optimize transportation routes.
• Review freight rates and transportation costs regularly to maintain cost-efficiency.
• Maintain high-quality standards throughout all logistic processes.

Qualifications and Experience

• Grade 12 School Certificate is required.
• A Business or Engineering Degree complemented by a CILT qualification is essential.
• Between 3 to 5 years of experience in a similar transport and logistics role.
• Proven experience managing a fleet exceeding 100 trucks.
• Professional qualifications related to vehicle and equipment management are advantageous.
• Demonstrable leadership and staff management skills.
