1. Financial Accountant (1 Position)
Job Purpose: To manage operational and treasury functions ensuring timely collection and disbursement of funds aligned with TEVETA’s strategic objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and submit financial reports promptly to comply with accounting standards and support decision-making.
- Conduct bank reconciliations and oversee receipting and banking of revenue to ensure financial accountability.
- Prepare budget inputs and supervise debt collection to minimize bad debts.
- Ensure timely payment of statutory obligations including PAYE and NAPSA contributions.
- Verify payment entries, monitor creditor payments, and process payroll accurately.
- Maintain the Fixed Assets Register and supervise clerical staff handling financial transactions.
- Provide inputs for annual accounts, statutory returns, and facilitate financial audits.
- Respond to client queries on claims and levies and safeguard accountable documents.
Required Skills and Competencies:
- Strong accounting skills with proficiency in accounting software.
- Ability to prepare financial statements, management reports, and risk assessments.
- Excellent report writing, supervisory, customer service, and relationship management skills.
- Integrity, professionalism, decision-making, and effective communication abilities.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Grade 12 School Certificate or equivalent.
- Degree in Accounting, Finance, or near completion of professional qualifications such as ACCA, CIMA, or CA Zambia.
- Membership in the Zambia Institute of Chartered Accountants.
- Minimum of five years post-qualification experience.
2. Assessment Specialist – Automotive Engineering Programmes (1 Position)
Job Purpose: To coordinate and monitor TEVET examinations ensuring effective measurement of training standards for automotive engineering programmes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Facilitate national examinations including setting, moderation, and marking sessions.
- Analyze examination results and prepare programme reports.
- Conduct workshops for assessors and examiners to improve examination quality.
- Monitor foreign examinations and produce examination guidelines in collaboration with boards.
- Manage learner enrolment, maintain records, and ensure compliance with TEVET examination standards.
Required Skills and Competencies:
- Knowledge of the TEVET system, automotive engineering principles, and educational assessment methodologies.
- Strong planning, coordination, project management, and team collaboration skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and ability to design instructional and assessment tools.
- Excellent written and verbal communication, data analysis, and record-keeping skills.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Grade 12 School Certificate or equivalent.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Automotive or Mechanical Engineering.
- Recognized qualification in Teaching Methodology (Certificate, Diploma, or Postgraduate Diploma).
- Valid practicing licence from the Engineering Institution of Zambia.
- TEVETA accreditation as Trainer and/or Examiner is an advantage.
- Minimum of three years’ relevant industry and teaching experience.
3. Trade Test Officer (1 Position)
Job Purpose: To administer and execute trade tests ensuring technical competency assessments meet industry standards and support vocational education development.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct reliable evaluation of candidates’ technical skills and maintain quality and consistency of trade testing procedures.
- Adhere to timelines for trade test administration and reporting.
- Build positive relationships with candidates, instructors, and industry partners.
- Organize assessment setting, moderation, and update trade testing programmes with industry collaboration.
- Register candidates, administer trade tests, Skills Awards, and Recognition of Prior Learning assessments.
- Prepare budgets, invitation letters, and payment documentation for assessors.
Required Skills and Competencies:
- Understanding of TEVET system, educational assessment principles, and data security.
- Strong planning, coordination, teamwork, and communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and ability to design assessment tools and maintain records.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Grade 12 School Certificate or equivalent.
- Diploma in Hotel, Tourism, and Hospitality Management or related field.
- Recognized qualification in Teaching Methodology (Certificate, Diploma, or Postgraduate Diploma).
- Valid TEVETA accreditation as Trainer and/or Examiner is preferred.
- Membership in the Hotel and Catering Association of Zambia.
- At least three years teaching and industry experience in tourism or hospitality.
