About the Telecom Project Manager Jobs in Lusaka

Our available positions focus on managing and delivering large-scale network infrastructure projects within the telecommunications sector. Candidates will be involved in overseeing the design, planning, and execution of FTTX/FTTH networks, including GPON/XGS-PON technologies and outside plant infrastructure. These roles require collaboration with multiple stakeholders to ensure project success and alignment with strategic business goals.

Key Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in IT, Engineering, Telecommunications, Computer Science, Project Management, or a related discipline; a Master’s degree is an added advantage.
• Minimum of 5 years’ project management experience, preferably within telecom operators, ISPs, technology companies, or large enterprises.
• Proven track record managing telecommunications or technology projects involving diverse stakeholders.
• Extensive experience in FTTX/FTTH network design, including GPON/XGS-PON, ODN, and passive outside-plant infrastructure.
• Skilled in developing fibre route plans, splice plans, network designs, and Bills of Materials (BOMs).
• Strong technical knowledge of GPON, XGS-PON, IP/MPLS, DWDM, SD-WAN, core networking, OSP, and ISP infrastructure.
• Experience managing large-scale network infrastructure projects and significant capital expenditure budgets.
• Excellent leadership, strategic thinking, decision-making, and stakeholder management capabilities.
• Proficiency with project management tools such as Microsoft Project, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, SharePoint, or equivalent collaboration platforms.
• Fluency in English with exceptional written and verbal communication skills; knowledge of French or local market languages is advantageous.
• Certifications such as PRINCE2, PMP, Agile, ITIL, or telecom-specific credentials are highly desirable.
