Technologist – Highway Management System (4 Positions) | Road Development Agency
The Road Development Agency (RDA) invites qualified candidates to apply for technologist highway management jobs in Zambia. As a statutory body under the Government of Zambia, the RDA is responsible for the planning, maintenance, and construction of public roads across the country, ensuring safe and efficient transportation infrastructure. These full-time positions are available in Lusaka, Eastern, Luapula, and Northern Provinces.
About the Technologist Highway Management Jobs in Zambia
Reporting directly to the Engineer – Planning and Design at the Provincial Office, the Technologist will play a vital role in maintaining and improving Zambia’s road network. The successful candidates will be responsible for conducting road and bridge condition surveys, updating the road network database, and supporting project planning and procurement activities.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct periodic road and bridge condition surveys to assess infrastructure status.
- Prepare Bills of Quantities (BOQs), Terms of Reference (TOR), and cash flow requirements for road projects.
- Compile data for BOQs and prepare tender documentation.
- Classify roads and maintain comprehensive road inventories.
- Conduct site visits with bidders and prepare site visit certificates.
- Participate in bid openings, evaluate bids, and prepare evaluation reports.
- Carry out traffic counts to support planning and maintenance efforts.
- Assist in preparing the Annual Work Plan (AWP) by providing relevant data.
- Procure works and consultancy services in compliance with Zambia Public Procurement Authority (ZPPA) and Agency guidelines.
- Prepare periodic and ad-hoc reports to inform management decisions.
- Perform other lawful duties as assigned by the supervisor.
Qualifications and Experience
- Full Grade 12 School Certificate.
- Diploma in Civil Engineering or equivalent qualification from a recognized institution.
- At least three (3) years of relevant post-qualification experience in road construction or related sectors.
- Valid membership with the Engineering Institution of Zambia (EIZ) or registration with the Engineers Registration Board (ERB).
Skills and Attributes

- Ability to multitask and work independently with minimal supervision.
- Proficient in computer applications such as MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
