The primary purpose of this role is to manage the installation, maintenance, and repair of all mining systems on site, ensuring operational efficiency and safety across critical communication and monitoring networks.

Key Responsibilities for Technician Mining Jobs in Solwezi

• Repair and optimize the mine’s Private Radio Network to maintain seamless communication.
• Manage radio repeater stations including installation, programming, and maintenance of user equipment.
• Conduct repairs on the Pit Rajant Mesh Network (Production Network) to support mining operations.
• Ensure timely installation and repair of the WENCO fleet management system on all mining hauling machines.
• Install and maintain the Driver Safety System (DSS) across mining haul trucks.
• Repair Avigilon CCTV systems deployed around the mine site for security and monitoring.
• Oversee repair and installation of Brigade systems on mining haul trucks.
• Perform additional duties as assigned by the supervisor to support site operations.

Qualifications and Experience

• Minimum Grade 12 school certificate.
• Diploma in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or an equivalent qualification.
• Academic credentials must be verified by the Zambia Qualifications Authority (ZAQA).
• At least 3 years of relevant experience in communication systems within mining or related industries.
• Proficient computer literacy skills.
• Valid driver’s license required.
• Experience with DSSI, Brigade, Rajant, or Mesh networks is advantageous.
