About the Role: Technical Audit Manager Jobs in Zambia

As the Manager – Technical Audits, you will supervise and guide audit staff in developing and executing strategic and annual internal audit plans across ZESCO’s technical operating units. You will provide expert consulting services to management and accountable business units, ensuring audit processes align with industry standards and effectively address identified risks.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist the Senior Manager – Operational & Technical Audits in managing audit teams for Technical Audits North and South, including staff training, performance evaluation, and addressing staff development needs.
  • Identify and assess auditable areas, developing risk-based annual internal audit plans consistent with company priorities.
  • Lead entry and exit conferences for each audit project to ensure clear communication of objectives and findings.
  • Develop audit objectives, plans, and scopes aligned with the Internal Audit Charter and risk assessments.
  • Schedule audits and allocate resources to ensure completion of approved audit plans within staffing limits.
  • Oversee internal audit assignments by defining issues, analyzing evidence, and documenting processes and procedures.
  • Review and approve detailed audit programs to ensure comprehensive and effective audit coverage.
  • Guide audit staff in conducting interviews, document reviews, surveys, and preparation of working papers and summary memos.
  • Manage the identification and documentation of audit issues, recommending improvements to management.
  • Communicate audit results through written reports and oral presentations promptly to stakeholders.
  • Maintain productive relationships with clients, staff, and management to foster a collaborative audit environment.
  • Promote continuous professional development for audit staff through training and knowledge sharing.
  • Represent internal audit in organizational projects and external engagements as delegated.
  • Ensure audit policies and procedures comply with International Standards for the Professional Practice of Internal Auditing.
  • Evaluate and counsel auditors to enhance skills and performance, facilitating effective audit execution.
  • Design the audit unit’s organizational structure and staffing to meet company goals efficiently.
  • Perform administrative duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Full Grade 12 School Certificate.
  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant engineering discipline.
  • Master’s degree in business or professional qualifications such as Certified Internal Auditor (CIA), Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA), Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE), ACCA, CIMA, or CA Zambia are advantageous.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in internal or external auditing.
  • At least 3 years of supervisory experience in audit or related fields.
