Role Overview for Systems Truck Park Management Jobs in Solwezi

The Specialist will be responsible for overseeing the entire truck park operations at Kansanshi, ensuring a safe and healthy environment while managing truck movements and logistics in coordination with various internal and external stakeholders. This role requires strict adherence to company policies, health and safety regulations, and operational standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the Kansanshi truck park to maintain safe operations and proper facility maintenance.
  • Coordinate Metal Sales truck logistics by liaising with transporters, Smelter/Process Plant teams, Safety officers, and weighbridge personnel.
  • Plan and oversee anode and acid truck loading according to allocations.
  • Optimize truck turnaround times by managing the receipt of concentrate trucks from Trident and third-party deliveries.
  • Coordinate acid purchase truck logistics to improve site efficiency.
  • Develop and maintain systems to monitor truck stay and movements on site, including managing the Mineman System for parcel creation and transaction closure.
  • Monitor weighbridge control systems and report discrepancies promptly.
  • Oversee stock inventory and loading processes to ensure accuracy and timeliness.
  • Facilitate timely reconciliation of product receipts and dispatches with relevant stakeholders.
  • Assist in issuing provisional customer invoices based on reconciled tonnages and manage final invoice finalizations.
  • Maintain strong relationships with transporters and resolve queries efficiently.
  • Report directly to the Metal Sales Superintendent.

Safety Management Responsibilities

  • Ensure safety standards are upheld across all Kansanshi truck parks.
  • Coordinate truck logistics safely and ensure all drivers complete proper safety inductions.
  • Implement and monitor compliance with safety procedures and KMP safety requirements.
  • Ensure drivers adhere to security protocols and standard operating procedures.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Logistics/Transport Management, Supply Chain Management, Systems Management, or a related field. All qualifications must be verified by the Zambia Qualifications Authority (ZAQA).
  • Membership or affiliation with the Zambia Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport or Zambia Institute of Purchasing and Supply is advantageous.
  • Minimum of 10 years’ experience in Metal Sales and Logistics, preferably in senior management roles, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Strong analytical skills with experience managing large data volumes and developing operational systems.
  • Proven ability to maintain safety in mobile operations and up-to-date knowledge of relevant Zambian laws and regulations.
  • Excellent command of English, both written and spoken.
  • Proficiency in MS Excel and Word.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills.
