Key Responsibilities for Surveyor Jobs in Ndola
As a Surveyor at Calm Mountain Real Estate Limited, you will play a vital role in supporting land measurement, site inspections, and development projects. Your duties will include:
- Fieldwork: Assisting with measuring land, buildings, and property boundaries; setting out boundary markers, building lines, and construction points; conducting site inspections and recording physical land features; operating and maintaining surveying equipment such as total stations, GPS devices, levels, and tapes.
- Office and Documentation: Preparing survey plans, maps, and drawings; accurately recording and organizing field data; supporting the preparation of reports for land registration, approvals, and internal use; updating survey records and databases.
- Development and Construction Support: Assisting in setting out buildings, roads, and infrastructure; monitoring site works to ensure compliance with approved plans; reporting discrepancies or issues to the lead Surveyor.
- Compliance and Coordination: Verifying survey information against title deeds and layout plans; supporting applications to land registries and planning authorities; collaborating with engineers, architects, and real estate staff as needed.
- Health, Safety, and Equipment Management: Adhering to site safety rules and company procedures; ensuring proper handling and care of surveying tools and equipment; promptly reporting any equipment damage or safety hazards.
Candidate Profile and Qualifications
Ideal candidates for this role will have a strong foundation in surveying principles combined with practical experience and excellent communication skills. Required qualifications and attributes include:
- Degree or Diploma in Surveying.
- Minimum of 3 years’ relevant work experience.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Excel and quantity surveying software is advantageous.
- Strong analytical abilities and effective communication skills.
- Knowledge of surveying tools and technologies.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work collaboratively.
- Physical fitness to work outdoors for extended periods.
- Must have own accommodation in Ndola or be willing to relocate at own cost.
- High level of integrity, honesty, and professionalism.
- Clean and valid driver’s licence is mandatory.
- Membership to the Zambia Institute of Quantity Surveyors (ZIQS) is an added advantage.
