About the Supply Chain Manager Role

The Supply Chain Manager will oversee the end-to-end supply chain operations, ensuring seamless procurement, inventory management, logistics coordination, and compliance with both organizational policies and donor requirements. This fixed-term contract spans 24 months and requires a proactive leader capable of driving efficiency and continuous improvement within the supply chain function.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage the entire supply chain cycle from procurement through to delivery
• Lead procurement planning, supplier sourcing, and supplier relationship management
• Ensure consistent availability of essential commodities through accurate forecasting
• Oversee inventory management systems, stock control, and minimize losses and expiries
• Coordinate logistics and distribution to various service delivery points
• Monitor supplier performance, manage contracts, and enforce service level agreements
• Ensure compliance with MSZ policies, donor regulations, and applicable standards
• Prepare supply chain performance reports and track key performance indicators
• Supervise and build the capacity of supply chain staff
• Monitor procurement expenditure and assist with financial planning
• Identify risks and implement continuous improvement initiatives

Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor’s Degree in Procurement and Supply Chain Management or equivalent
• Professional certification such as CIPS is required
• Minimum of 5 years’ relevant experience, including at least 3 years in a managerial capacity
• Membership with the Zambia Institute of Purchasing and Supply (ZIPS) is mandatory
• Master’s degree in Supply Chain or Procurement is an advantage
• Excellent communication, leadership, and analytical skills
• Ability to perform effectively under pressure in a fast-paced environment
