About Ciheb Zambia and the Study Site Coordinator Role
Ciheb Zambia is a respected non-profit organization partnering with the Ministry of Health to enhance HIV prevention, testing services, and address critical health challenges in Zambia. The Study Site Coordinator will play a pivotal role in the Zambian Cohort of Health Ageing and Dementia (ZCHAD) study, managing community-based data collection and coordinating specialist clinical assessments. The successful candidate will ensure the study is conducted with scientific rigor, ethical standards, and compassion throughout all phases.
Key Responsibilities for Study Site Coordinator Jobs in Mazabuka
- Manage daily site operations in compliance with the approved study protocol and guidelines.
- Develop and maintain study schedules to ensure timely completion of community screenings and facility assessments.
- Act as the primary liaison between research scientists, community health workers (CHWs), clinical specialists, and ethical bodies.
- Supervise and mentor CHW data collectors, providing regular training and quality assurance through field visits.
- Coordinate participant flow between community data collection and clinical assessments, including scheduling and logistical support.
- Maintain accurate study documentation, data entry, and ensure confidentiality using electronic databases such as REDCap.
- Ensure compliance with ethical standards, report deviations or adverse events promptly, and maintain regulatory files.
- Prepare and submit regular progress reports and participate actively in study meetings and communications.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in public health, nursing, clinical medicine, psychology, or a related field.
- At least two years of experience in research coordination or a similar capacity, preferably involving CHW data collectors.
- Experience or familiarity with ageing populations, dementia research, psychological assessments, and cognitive studies.
- Proven ability to train and supervise field research assistants or community health workers.
- Competence in electronic data capture systems and strong data management skills.
- Knowledge of local health systems and community structures in Mazabuka.
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks independently and meet deadlines.
- Fluency in English and Tonga, with strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- High integrity and empathy when working with elderly and cognitively vulnerable participants.
