Role Overview: Stock Controller Jobs in Lusaka

As a Stock Controller, you will be responsible for maintaining accurate inventory records and implementing robust stock control procedures. Your primary duties will include monitoring stock receipts, transfers, issues, and returns, conducting regular reconciliations and physical stock counts, and investigating any inventory discrepancies. By collaborating closely with depot teams, procurement, logistics, finance, and operations departments, you will help ensure timely and compliant inventory reporting while safeguarding company assets.

This role also involves providing management with detailed inventory reports, streamlining inventory management processes, minimizing stock variances, and ensuring optimal stock availability to support operational efficiency and excellent customer service.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee and maintain accurate stock records across all warehouses and depots.
• Monitor and record stock movements including receipts, transfers, issues, and returns.
• Conduct regular stock reconciliations and physical inventory counts.
• Investigate and resolve inventory variances and discrepancies.
• Implement corrective actions to reduce stock losses and improve accuracy.
• Collaborate with procurement, logistics, finance, and operations teams to ensure inventory integrity.
• Prepare and submit timely inventory reports to management.
• Support continuous improvement of inventory management processes.

Qualifications and Experience

• Full Grade 12 Certificate with at least five credits.
• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Procurement, Business Administration, Accounting, or related fields.
• Professional qualifications in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Procurement, or Inventory Management are an advantage.
• Minimum of 3 to 5 years’ experience in inventory management, stock control, or warehouse operations.
• Proven expertise in inventory reconciliation, stock variance analysis, and warehouse controls.
• Strong knowledge of inventory management principles and internal control procedures.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel for inventory analysis and reporting.
• Familiarity with Sage Evolution 200 or similar inventory management software is a plus.
• Excellent analytical, numerical, and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail.
• Effective communication, reporting, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet strict reporting deadlines.
• Valid driver’s license is an added advantage.
