About the Standard Housekeeper Role

As a Standard Housekeeper at SAM Zambia, you will be responsible for delivering comprehensive cleaning and basic home care services. Your efforts will ensure that clients’ homes remain orderly, comfortable, and hygienic. This full-time position requires attention to detail, reliability, and a proactive approach to household maintenance.

Key Responsibilities for Standard Housekeeper Jobs in Lusaka

• Cleaning Duties: Thoroughly clean and sanitize all areas of assigned homes, including sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, dusting, polishing, and disinfecting surfaces.
• Maintain kitchen hygiene by washing dishes, cleaning appliances, and organizing spaces.
• Make beds, change linen, and keep rooms neat and orderly.
• Empty waste bins and dispose of rubbish appropriately.
• Laundry & Ironing: Wash, dry, fold, and iron clothes and household fabrics, handling delicate items with care and sorting laundry according to fabric type.
• Household Support: Replenish cleaning supplies, assist with household organization, and report any maintenance issues or damages promptly.
• Transportation & Mobility: Drive to assigned locations when necessary, transport cleaning materials safely, and maintain cleanliness and roadworthiness of any assigned vehicle.
• Safety & Compliance: Use cleaning chemicals and equipment safely, adhere to company hygiene and safety protocols, and wear required uniforms or protective clothing.

Qualifications and Experience

• Minimum of Grade 12 Certificate.
• Valid Driver’s Licence is advantageous.
• Possession of a valid passport is a plus.
• Previous experience in housekeeping or cleaning roles is beneficial but not mandatory.
• Ability to read and follow written instructions accurately.
