Role Overview for Site Stores Clerk Jobs in Zambia
Reporting directly to the Technical Administrative Manager, the Site/Stores Clerk will oversee the daily operations of the site store. This role involves receiving, storing, and issuing materials, maintaining precise inventory records, and ensuring the store environment remains secure and well-organized throughout the project lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
- Receive and verify incoming materials, tools, and equipment against delivery notes and purchase orders.
- Store materials safely to prevent damage, deterioration, or theft.
- Issue materials to site personnel and subcontractors using approved requisition forms.
- Maintain accurate stock records, bin cards, and inventory spreadsheets.
- Conduct regular cycle counts and full physical inventory audits.
- Report discrepancies, shortages, or damaged goods promptly to the Site Manager.
- Ensure the storehouse remains clean, organized, and secure at all times.
- Coordinate with procurement and logistics teams to ensure timely restocking of materials.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Immediate availability to start is essential.
- Willingness and ability to live full-time at the project site camp (accommodation and meals provided).
- Minimum of a Full Grade 12 School Certificate.
- Certificate or Diploma in Stores Management, Procurement, Logistics, or related field preferred.
- At least 1 to 2 years’ experience as a Stores Clerk, ideally on a construction or project site.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word.
- High levels of honesty, integrity, and physical fitness.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
