About the Role – Site Planner Jobs in Kitwe

As a Site Planner at Normet Zambia Limited, you will be responsible for implementing production plans that optimize the use of company resources while adhering to safety, quality, and production standards. Your role will be pivotal in ensuring that schedules align with production specifications and timelines, supporting smooth operational flow.

Key Responsibilities

• Analyze project plans, contracts, and production specifications to develop detailed schedules and production plans.
• Estimate requirements for human resources, tools, components, and equipment necessary for manufacturing.
• Assess plant capacity and production specifications to determine production processes and calculate machine and operator workloads.
• Monitor ongoing production activities and analyze data to maintain material flow according to production requirements and schedules.
• Adjust schedules to address backlogs, design modifications, and shortages in materials or labor.
• Prepare work orders for production or initiate purchase requests based on established production schedules.

Experience and Skills Required

• Minimum of five years’ experience in construction or engineering, including at least three years in project planning.
• Strong familiarity with safe working practices.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Project for scheduling and planning.
• Competency in Microsoft Power BI and Excel, including report writing skills.
• Previous planning experience is highly valued.

Qualifications

• Grade 12 Certificate is mandatory.
• All qualifications must be certified by the Zambia Qualifications Authority (ZAQA).
• A degree in Project Management, Engineering, or Construction Management is required.
• Additional certification in Planning or Project Management will be an advantage.
