About the Role – Site HSE Officer Jobs in Solwezi
As a Site HSE Officer on this contract, you will be an integral part of our Project Delivery Group (PDG), a dynamic team committed to world-class project execution. This full-time, on-site role involves ensuring strict adherence to health, safety, and environmental standards across the project, supporting risk management, and fostering a culture of safety excellence.
Key Responsibilities
- Review and interpret all applicable legal and project-specific HSE requirements, advising project personnel, including the EPCM Construction Manager, to maintain compliance.
- Support the implementation of hazard identification and risk management processes for all site activities.
- Participate in Task Risk Assessments, ensuring control measures are applied and sustained.
- Contribute to the Critical Control Verification programme and report on findings.
- Assist in delivering HSE induction training for all site personnel.
- Maintain HSE documentation and records in line with the project’s management system.
- Communicate relevant HSE information such as incidents, lessons learned, hazards, and control measures to the project team.
- Conduct health and safety interactions and attend contractor Toolbox Talks and daily pre-start safety discussions according to schedule.
- Participate in monthly Contractor and Project HSE meetings and perform Planned Task Observations.
- Support the implementation, testing, and maintenance of the Emergency Preparedness and Response Plan.
- Respond appropriately to workplace incidents and contribute to incident investigations.
- Audit contractor compliance with HSE requirements monthly and track corrective actions arising from audits and investigations.
Candidate Requirements
- Recognized Health & Safety Degree or Diploma; short courses may be considered but a formal HSE qualification is preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years’ onsite Health and Safety experience within EPCM, construction, or mining environments.
- Ability to pass a medical examination and Silicosis screening in accordance with Occupational Health & Safety standards.
- Valid driver’s license.
