About the Role

As a Service Engineer at Repro Ltd, you will be responsible for the reliable operation and efficient performance of assigned equipment, including Ricoh and other technologies. Your role will involve installing and commissioning equipment, performing preventive and corrective maintenance, and troubleshooting technical issues. You will also play a key role in supporting the company’s service and revenue objectives by identifying opportunities to improve machine performance and reduce downtime.

Key Responsibilities for Service Engineer Jobs in Lusaka Kitwe Solwezi

• Equipment Installation & Commissioning: Install, configure, test, and commission Ricoh and other devices, providing user guidance and completing all required documentation.
• Maintenance & Repairs: Conduct scheduled preventive maintenance, promptly diagnose and repair faults, replace defective parts, and ensure machines maintain high uptime.
• Technical Troubleshooting: Respond to service calls within agreed timelines, accurately diagnose faults using technical tools, escalate complex issues, and maintain detailed repair records.
• Ricoh Technical Expertise: Complete and maintain Ricoh I Learn certifications, stay updated on technical developments, and apply manufacturer-recommended procedures.
• Customer Service: Maintain professional relationships, communicate technical information clearly, minimize repeat issues, and secure customer sign-off after service completion.
• Service Revenue & Cost Control: Support revenue targets by identifying billable repair opportunities, controlling parts usage, and ensuring accurate invoicing.
• Reporting & Administration: Submit timely service reports, update management systems, and maintain accurate records of service activities and outstanding issues.
• Health, Safety & Compliance: Adhere to all safety protocols, use appropriate PPE, report hazards, and maintain a clean work environment.
• Additional Duties: Participate in training, support junior staff, assist in customer demonstrations, and perform other technical tasks as assigned.

Qualifications and Competencies

• Educational Background: Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, ICT, Mechanical Engineering, or related fields.
• Experience: Proven experience servicing printers, copiers, production-print equipment, or ICT machinery.
• Certifications: Ricoh I Learn certification relevant to assigned equipment and CompTIA certification as required by Repro Ltd.
• Licensing: Valid driver’s license for field service travel.
• Technical Skills: Expertise in electrical/electronic troubleshooting, mechanical diagnostics, printer/copier technology, networking, and preventive maintenance.
• Behavioral Attributes: Customer-focused, strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, effective communication, time management, accountability, and ability to work under pressure.
• Mobility & Teamwork: Willingness to travel and work onsite, with a commitment to continuous learning and collaboration.
