About the Senior Teller Role

The Senior Teller will play a pivotal role in ensuring smooth branch operations and compliance with banking regulations. This position requires regular interaction with internal departments such as Retail Banking, Commercial & Agri Banking, Treasury, and Branch Operations, as well as external local regulators on statutory matters. The role demands strong supervisory skills, attention to detail, and a thorough understanding of Zanaco’s retail banking products and processes.

Key Responsibilities for Senior Teller Jobs in Lusaka

  • Supervise daily teller operations and ensure adherence to banking procedures
  • Manage account opening processes and enforce Know Your Customer (KYC) requirements
  • Handle cash transactions efficiently and securely
  • Collaborate with various departments to support branch objectives
  • Ensure compliance with relevant legislation, including anti-money laundering policies and banking codes
  • Address and resolve customer complaints promptly and professionally

Qualifications and Experience

  • Grade 12 certificate with credit or above in Mathematics, English, and at least three other subjects
  • University degree in a business-related field or a professional qualification from a recognized institution
  • Diploma in Banking and Finance is an added advantage
  • Minimum of three years banking experience, including at least three years in a supervisory role
  • Comprehensive knowledge of Zanaco’s retail products and branch processes
  • Familiarity with statutory regulations such as KYC and anti-money laundering laws
  • Proven skills in complaint handling and customer service
