Position Overview

As the Senior Oil Mill Superintendent, you will play a critical role in overseeing the daily operations of the Oil Mill Plant, ensuring the production of high-quality Crude Palm Oil (CPO) while maintaining operational efficiency and compliance with industry standards. Your leadership will be essential in managing labor, quality control, maintenance, and reporting functions to meet company production goals.

Key Responsibilities for Senior Oil Mill Superintendent Jobs in Kanchibiya

  • Assist in the overall management and smooth running of the Oil Mill Plant operations.
  • Develop and implement operational procedures and manage workforce productivity.
  • Oversee processing and production of Crude Palm Oil, ensuring quality standards are met.
  • Manage quality control, storage, and dispatch of finished CPO products.
  • Plan and execute annual maintenance activities to minimize machine downtime.
  • Prepare departmental work plans and budgets aligned with company objectives.
  • Ensure the desired Oil Extraction Rate (OER) is consistently achieved for every batch.
  • Supervise laboratory staff to guarantee accurate testing and quality assurance.
  • Monitor employee performance and ensure assigned tasks are completed efficiently.
  • Compile and submit daily and monthly production reports to the Oil Mills Manager.
  • Maintain excellent housekeeping standards within the milling facility.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Minimum of Grade 12 GCE O’Level Certificate or GCSE.
  • Degree in Production Management, Food Science, Chemical Engineering, or an equivalent qualification from a recognized institution.
  • Training in ISO 9001:2015 standards.
  • At least 5 years of experience in a processing industry or similar environment, including a minimum of 3 years in a supervisory role.
  • Proven experience managing large-scale factories such as sugar, coffee, or tea plantations.
  • Familiarity with Zambia’s regulatory frameworks including ZEMA, ZABS, Companies Act, and ZCSA is highly desirable.
  • Knowledge of the palm oil industry will be considered an advantage.
