Role Overview: Senior Electrical Engineer Jobs in Lusaka

This position is ideal for an experienced Electrical Engineer ready to take on full project and operations management responsibilities. You will bridge the gap between technical execution and business outcomes by overseeing project delivery, coordinating field teams, managing subcontractors, and maintaining client relationships. Your ability to interpret designs, identify issues, and lead teams across multiple sites will be essential.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead delivery of solar PV and storage projects from contract signing through final handover
• Plan and manage project schedules, budgets, and resource allocation for multiple concurrent projects
• Coordinate field teams, subcontractors, and specialist vendors to ensure smooth operations
• Conduct regular site visits to monitor quality, progress, and safety compliance
• Serve as the primary client contact throughout project execution
• Review and approve designs, submittals, and technical documentation
• Identify and manage variation orders, delays, and commercial risks proactively
• Provide timely and clear project status reports to senior management
• Contribute to operational procedures, staff training, and continuous process improvements
• Travel regularly to project sites within Zambia and the surrounding region

Candidate Profile and Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent
• 5 to 15 years of relevant experience, including at least 3 years in project management or site leadership
• Strong technical background in solar PV, power systems, or electrical construction
• Demonstrated ability to manage teams, subcontractors, and client relationships simultaneously
• Solid commercial awareness, including contract management, variations, and cost control
• Excellent communication skills for reports, client meetings, and site briefings
• Highly organized and able to manage multiple priorities under pressure
• Valid driver’s license required
• Experience working in Sub-Saharan Africa is a distinct advantage
• Fluent English is essential; all nationalities are welcome to apply
