About the School Manager Role

Reporting directly to the Human Resource Director, the School Manager will be instrumental in shaping the educational experience at Nakambala Private School. The successful candidate will provide visionary leadership, manage academic and administrative functions, and foster a positive learning environment that promotes excellence and continuous development.

Key Responsibilities for School Manager Jobs in Mazabuka

• Policy & Compliance: Ensure full compliance with Zambia Ministry of Education policies; liaise with the Ministry on syllabus updates, examination schedules, and policy changes; manage examination registrations and renewals.
• Academic Leadership: Oversee delivery of the Zambian curriculum and ECZ examination standards; ensure high-quality teaching and learning; lead academic quality assurance through lesson observations, work scrutiny, and exam analysis; monitor and support lesson planning and curriculum selection for Primary and Secondary sections.
• Examinations & Reporting: Coordinate national examination preparations, including secure storage of examination materials; manage academic timetables and reporting; prepare monthly academic reports.
• Staffing & Professional Development: Collaborate with HR to recruit and select qualified teaching staff; mentor and appraise staff; manage discipline, performance, and career progression; promote ongoing professional development and training.
• Administration & Records: Maintain accurate school records and statistical data; oversee annual budgeting, expenditure monitoring, and cost control; procure teaching resources; publish the school calendar in accordance with Ministry guidelines.
• Student Welfare & Discipline: Foster a supportive and disciplined learning environment; manage pupil welfare and behavior; support extracurricular, sports, and cultural activities.
• Strategic Development & Community Engagement: Lead strategic planning for school improvement; act as liaison between the school, parents, and Ministry of Education; represent the school at official and community events; oversee daily operations of both Primary and Secondary sections.

Qualifications and Experience Required

• Full Grade 12 Certificate.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Education (Master’s Degree preferred).
• 7 to 10 years of teaching and/or administrative experience preferred.
• Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
• Comprehensive knowledge of national education policies and examination systems.
• Financial management and budgeting skills.
• Demonstrated ability to inspire staff, students, and the wider community.
• All qualifications must be verified by the Zambia Qualifications Authority (ZAQA).
