Position Overview
The Sales Manager will report directly to the General Manager and play a pivotal role in expanding revenue by managing existing clients and securing new business opportunities. The primary focus will be promoting the renowned Livingstone Island Excursion, building strategic partnerships, and leading sales initiatives that maximize profitability and market presence.
Key Responsibilities for Sales Manager Jobs in Livingstone
- Sales Strategy & Revenue Growth: Develop and execute comprehensive sales plans to meet targets; identify and pursue new market opportunities; collaborate with marketing on promotional campaigns.
- Customer Engagement & Sales Visits: Conduct sales trips within Zambia and neighboring Zimbabwe; deliver compelling presentations to potential clients; nurture relationships with travel agencies, corporate clients, and individual customers.
- Supplier & Stakeholder Management: Maintain and negotiate with suppliers including boat operators and guides; ensure contract compliance and timely payments.
- Market Research & Competitive Analysis: Monitor industry trends and competitor activities; provide insights to enhance excursion offerings.
- Trade Shows & Industry Events: Represent the company at exhibitions and networking events; prepare promotional materials and engage prospective partners.
- Reporting & Sales Performance Analysis: Maintain accurate sales records; analyze data to refine strategies; assist management with forecasts and reports.
- Sales Team Leadership & Training: Support and train sales representatives; align team efforts with company objectives and growth targets.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Sales, Marketing, Business Administration, or related field; Master’s degree preferred.
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in sales management or account management, ideally within the tourism industry.
- Proven track record of exceeding sales targets and managing customer-focused environments.
- Willingness to travel extensively across Zambia, Zimbabwe, Botswana, and potentially other regions.
- Knowledge of hospitality and tourism booking systems; familiarity with Victoria Falls tourism market.
- Proficiency in booking software, CRM platforms, and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong analytical, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
- Excellent communication and presentation abilities; capable of working independently and collaboratively.
