The Sales Engineer will play a pivotal role in developing and executing sales strategies tailored for the Zambian market. Responsibilities include building a sustainable sales pipeline, forming strategic partnerships, and ensuring the company meets its annual sales targets. This position requires a blend of strategic thinking and hands-on sales execution, with a focus on technical expertise in fire protection and life safety systems.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop comprehensive sales and route-to-market strategies specific to Zambia.
• Create and implement strategic sales plans to expand the customer base and meet sales budgets.
• Formulate segment strategies and tactical plans to capitalize on market opportunities.
• Monitor emerging markets and shifts, maintaining awareness of new products and competitor activities.
• Conduct ongoing competitor analysis, focusing on pricing, market share, and positioning.
• Ensure timely submission and follow-up of all sales quotations.
• Prepare monthly and quarterly sales forecasts and analyze sales data using key metrics.
• Manage and resolve customer complaints promptly and professionally.
• Maintain accurate records in the CRM system, tracking sales activities, proposals, and conversions.

Qualifications and Experience

• 2 to 5 years of progressive technical sales experience, preferably in fire protection or life safety systems.
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Fire Protection, Electrical) or a related discipline.
• Technical proficiency including sales training, hazard identification, risk assessment, incident investigation, and legal liability awareness.
• Excellent communication skills, including public speaking, negotiation, and report writing.
• Ability to read blueprints and proficiency with CAD or CRM software.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Demonstrated integrity, honesty, and strong interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work effectively under pressure and manage projects from quotation to final sign-off.
• In-depth knowledge of the Zambian business environment, market dynamics, and buyer behavior.
