Role Overview: Sales and Marketing Manager Jobs in Lusaka

As the Sales and Marketing Manager, you will be responsible for developing and executing comprehensive sales strategies while spearheading impactful marketing campaigns. Your leadership will be pivotal in expanding Plush’s distribution network and enhancing customer engagement across B2B and B2C sectors, including contractors, developers, institutions, NGOs, and government entities. This role requires a strategic thinker with excellent communication and analytical skills to align sales, marketing, and production functions effectively.

Key Responsibilities

• Sales Management: Formulate annual sales plans, manage budgets, and forecast targets to meet business goals.
• Expand and oversee the national distribution network, including distributors, dealers, hardware shops, and direct accounts.
• Identify and secure new business opportunities in both B2B and B2C markets.
• Lead and mentor the sales team to consistently achieve performance targets.
• Maintain strong customer relationships to ensure satisfaction and retention.
• Manage pricing strategies, credit control, and debt collection processes.
• Analyze sales data and market trends to guide strategic decisions and prepare regular performance reports.

• Marketing and Brand Management: Develop integrated marketing strategies to boost brand awareness and product demand.
• Lead brand-building initiatives ensuring consistent messaging across all channels.
• Plan and execute marketing campaigns via digital, radio, print, outdoor, and trade platforms.
• Manage the company’s digital presence including website, social media, and online advertising to generate leads.
• Create marketing collateral such as product catalogs, brochures, POS materials, and videos.
• Conduct market research and competitor analysis to identify growth opportunities.
• Organize product launches, trade fairs, exhibitions, painter trainings, and customer engagement events.
• Design and administer trade and dealer incentive programs to increase product uptake.
• Collaborate with R&D and Production teams on new product development, packaging, and pricing strategies.
• Manage the marketing budget and assess the return on investment for all marketing activities.

• Strategic Leadership: Build and develop a high-performing Sales & Marketing team.
• Ensure alignment across Sales, Marketing, Production, and Customer Service departments.
• Maintain an up-to-date customer and distributor database/CRM system.
• Represent Plush at industry events, stakeholder meetings, and business forums.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, quality standards, and brand guidelines.

Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Business Administration, Sales, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years’ experience in Sales and Marketing, including at least 3 years in a managerial capacity.
• Proven track record in revenue growth, market expansion, and brand development.
• Experience in Manufacturing, Paints, FMCG, or Building Materials sectors is advantageous.
• Strong understanding of Zambian distribution channels and market dynamics.
• Excellent leadership, negotiation, communication, and analytical skills.
• Proficiency in digital marketing and social media platforms.
• Advanced skills in MS Office; CRM experience is a plus.
• Self-motivated, target-oriented, and willing to travel extensively.
