Position Overview

As a Safety Manager on a contract basis, you will be responsible for developing and enforcing occupational health and safety policies, ensuring compliance with mining and safety legislation, and promoting a culture of safety across all departments. The role offers a competitive monthly salary starting from 3,500 ZMW and is based in Lusaka, Zambia.

Key Responsibilities for Safety Manager Jobs in Lusaka

• Develop, implement, and continuously monitor occupational health and safety policies and procedures.
• Conduct regular workplace inspections, risk assessments, and comprehensive safety audits.
• Ensure full compliance with applicable mining, occupational health, and safety legislation.

Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Health, Mining Safety, or a related discipline.
• Minimum of ten (10) years of relevant experience in safety management.
• Comprehensive knowledge of Zambian occupational health, safety, and mining legislation.
• Proven experience in accident investigation, risk assessments, and managing safety systems.
• Strong leadership abilities, excellent communication, analytical thinking, and report-writing skills.
• Professional safety certification is a distinct advantage.
• Proficiency in computer applications and safety management software.
