The National Legal Aid Clinic for Women (NLACW), a project of the Law Association of Zambia, is dedicated to empowering marginalized women and children by providing affordable legal representation, counselling, and human rights education. We are currently seeking a qualified and experienced professional to fill the position of Resource Mobilisation Officer based in Lusaka. This role is integral to securing funding and fostering partnerships that support our mission to enhance access to justice and legal rights.

About the Resource Mobilisation Officer Role

Reporting directly to the Executive Director, the Resource Mobilisation Officer will lead efforts to develop and execute a comprehensive resource mobilisation strategy. This position is vital for sustaining NLACW’s programs that provide legal aid and advocate for responsive policy frameworks benefiting vulnerable women and children.

Key Responsibilities for Resource Mobilisation Officer Jobs in Lusaka

  • Develop and implement a strategic resource mobilisation plan aligned with organizational goals.
  • Identify and pursue diverse funding opportunities, including grants, partnerships, and corporate sponsorships.
  • Conduct research on potential donors such as government bodies, international agencies, and private foundations.
  • Prepare compelling grant proposals and funding applications tailored to donor priorities.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with donors, partners, and stakeholders, providing regular project updates and reports.
  • Collaborate with local and international organizations to establish strategic partnerships.
  • Support program teams by aligning funding efforts with project goals and ensuring donor compliance.
  • Train staff on best practices in resource mobilisation and donor engagement.
  • Monitor and evaluate resource mobilisation activities to optimize impact and adapt strategies as needed.

Qualifications and Skills Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Development Studies, Social Sciences, or related field; Master’s degree preferred.
  • Proven experience in resource mobilisation, fundraising, or grant writing, ideally within an NGO environment.
  • Strong knowledge of legal and human rights issues affecting women and children.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage diverse stakeholders effectively.
  • Analytical and strategic thinking with the ability to identify and secure funding opportunities.
  • Proficiency in proposal writing, donor reporting, and budget management.
  • Familiarity with donor funding trends and an established network of contacts is an advantage.
