Role and Responsibilities of Representative Directors
As a Representative Director, you will be entrusted with the responsibility to act in the best interests of both the investee company and ZCCM-IH. Your key duties will include:
- Exercising sound business judgment to safeguard and enhance investment value.
- Relying on the integrity of senior executives, external advisors, and auditors while applying your own expertise to business matters.
- Attending board and committee meetings regularly and dedicating sufficient time to fulfill your responsibilities.
- Ensuring timely receipt and review of board meeting materials to prepare adequately.
- Submitting detailed reports on meetings attended, highlighting critical issues, resolutions, and recommendations.
Qualifications and Experience Required for Representative Director Jobs in Zambia
Applicants should meet the following criteria:
- A minimum of an undergraduate degree from a recognized university; advanced degrees such as a Master’s or Doctorate are advantageous.
- Alternatively, candidates demonstrating significant leadership achievements, successful business management, or verifiable accomplishments that add value to ZCCM-IH will be considered.
- At least ten years of senior management experience, preferably with exposure to international business environments.
- Ability to analyze and provide insightful comments on financial statements.
- Strong competencies in strategic planning and business leadership.
- Self-motivation, visible leadership skills, and perseverance in challenging circumstances.
- Knowledge of the mining sector is an asset.
- No material conflicts of interest with ZCCM-IH or its investee companies.
- Understanding of the legal and fiduciary responsibilities of an independent director in Zambia.
