Position Overview

Reporting directly to the Senior Manager – Recoveries, the Recoveries Intern will play a vital role in managing follow-ups on bad debts, doubtful accounts, and payments from off-payroll clients. The intern will be responsible for tracing clients, ensuring payment plans are established, and supporting the rehabilitation of loans to standard performing status. This role is based in Lusaka, Zambia.

Key Responsibilities for Recoveries Intern Jobs in Lusaka

• Conduct follow-ups with defaulting clients to facilitate debt consolidation and loan rehabilitation, moving accounts out of arrears.
• Complete assigned calls using persuasive communication to encourage clients to make cash payments promptly.
• Ensure perpetual defaulters sign repayment plans aimed at maximizing timely collections.
• Trace unreachable clients and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders.
• Manage the smooth transition of collections from early warning to off-payroll collections for confirmed off-payroll clients.
• Interpret loan accounts comprehensively, track payments, and ensure payments are accurately linked to loan accounts.
• Provide accurate inputs for monthly default reason coding and ensure correct classification of loans under collection modes.
• Prepare client files, call reports, and follow-up reports reflecting payments, client feedback, and actions taken.
• Compile any additional reports as required and perform other lawful duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications and Skills

• Full Grade 12 Certificate or equivalent qualification.
• A degree in any business-related field is required.
• Proficiency in computer use and relevant software applications.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
• Strong numerical aptitude and analytical skills.
• Demonstrated sales and negotiation abilities.
