Role Overview and Responsibilities

As a Quality Control Technologist, you will assist in the QC laboratory by conducting thorough testing and approval of raw materials and blended products. You will ensure that all processing parameters are accurately checked and recorded according to departmental procedures. Your responsibilities will include:

• Receiving and verifying all relevant documentation for batches of raw materials.
• Sampling and testing incoming raw materials in compliance with GLP standards.
• Maintaining retention samples for every batch of raw materials and blended products.
• Performing routine QC checks on blended batches and reporting deviations promptly to the QC Manager.
• Generating Certificates of Analysis (COAs) for packed blends and providing them to customers upon request.
• Supporting factory quality issues and ensuring completion of Process Control Sheets for each manufactured batch.
• Conducting random inspections on packed products, including weight verification, seal integrity, and label accuracy.
• Ensuring line clearance and cleaning protocols are strictly followed between production batches.
• Operating, calibrating, and maintaining laboratory equipment safely and efficiently in line with GLP requirements.
• Preparing reagents and refreshing buffers as necessary during testing procedures.

Qualifications and Experience

Candidates interested in quality control technologist jobs in Lusaka should meet the following qualifications and skills:

• Diploma or Bachelor of Science degree in Microbiology, Biochemistry, Laboratory Science, or a related field.
• Experience in the food and beverage industry is advantageous.
• At least two years of relevant work experience in quality control or laboratory testing.

• Strong report writing skills and the ability to analyze and present data trends at Food Safety and QC meetings.
