Plush Coatings and Chemicals Company Limited is seeking a dedicated Quality Assurance / Quality Control Officer to join our team in Lusaka, Zambia. About the Role

The Quality Assurance Officer will lead and manage all quality control and assurance activities to ensure that our coatings and chemical products consistently comply with regulatory standards, customer expectations, and internal specifications. You will champion a quality-driven culture throughout the production process, from raw materials to finished goods, ensuring excellence at every stage.

Key Responsibilities in Quality Assurance Jobs in Lusaka

• Develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive QA/QC systems, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and policies tailored to paint and chemical manufacturing.
• Ensure all raw materials, in-process items, and finished products meet Zambia Bureau of Standards (ZABS) and relevant industry quality benchmarks.
• Conduct thorough product testing, inspections, and audits at every production phase to uphold quality standards.
• Investigate customer complaints and non-conformances, leading corrective and preventive action initiatives.
• Oversee laboratory operations, including management of testing equipment and calibration schedules.
• Provide training to production staff on quality standards, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), and safety protocols.
• Maintain accurate documentation and records to ensure traceability and regulatory compliance.
• Collaborate closely with Production, Procurement, and Research & Development teams to drive continuous quality improvements.
• Monitor waste and rework processes while ensuring adherence to environmental, health, and safety regulations.

Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Food Science, or a related discipline. Candidates with a diploma and relevant experience will also be considered.
• Minimum of 2 to 3 years’ experience in QA/QC roles within manufacturing, preferably in paints, coatings, or chemicals.
• Strong knowledge of ISO 9001, ZABS standards, GMP, and laboratory testing procedures.
• In-depth understanding of paint formulations, raw materials, and production processes.
• Proven track record in establishing and managing effective QA systems.
• Excellent leadership, analytical, and problem-solving capabilities.
• Proficient computer skills with the ability to produce clear and concise reports.
