Position Overview

As a Purchasing & Supply Intern, you will assist with sourcing suppliers, managing procurement documentation, and supporting inventory control to ensure timely delivery of goods and services to various company projects and operations. This internship provides practical experience in procurement processes and supplier engagement under the guidance of the Procurement Manager.

Key Responsibilities for Purchasing and Supply Intern Jobs in Lusaka

• Assist in identifying and sourcing suppliers while requesting quotations for required goods and services.
• Prepare Local Purchase Orders (LPOs), Goods Received Notes (GRNs), and maintain accurate procurement records.
• Support stocktaking activities, inventory management, and warehouse operations.
• Follow up with suppliers to monitor timely deliveries to project sites and the head office.
• Maintain and update the supplier database and procurement files.
• Assist in preparing tender and bidding documents as needed.
• Perform additional duties as assigned by the Procurement Manager.

Candidate Requirements

• Must be a Zambian citizen residing in Lusaka, preferably near the Northmead area.
• Currently enrolled in or recently graduated with a Diploma or Degree in Purchasing & Supply, Procurement, Logistics, or Business Administration from a recognized institution.
• Achieved a minimum of Credit or 60% average in relevant studies.
• Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Familiarity with bidding on the e-GP platform via the ZPPA portal is required.
• Possession of a valid driver’s license is essential.
• Membership in professional bodies such as ZIPS or CIPS is preferred.
• Knowledge of ZPPA procurement guidelines and ERP systems will be an advantage.
• Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet deadlines.
• Willingness to travel to project sites as necessary.
