About the Psychosocial Counsellor Role

The Psychosocial Counsellor will play a pivotal role in supporting the mental health, emotional wellbeing, and social welfare of all members of ZESCO United Football Club. This full-time position focuses on delivering professional counselling, psychosocial support, crisis intervention, and wellbeing programs tailored to the unique needs of athletes and staff. The counsellor will also manage referrals to specialised services, ensuring comprehensive care and optimal performance.

Key Responsibilities for Psychosocial Counsellor Jobs in Ndola

  • Coordinate and provide counselling and psychosocial support services to players, technical staff, and academy members.
  • Develop and oversee the Club’s Player Mental Wellbeing Programme to enhance psychological resilience and emotional health.
  • Plan and implement Mental Health Education and Awareness initiatives across the Club.
  • Safeguard the mental wellbeing of players by proactively addressing psychological and social challenges.
  • Manage referrals to certified mental health professionals and reputable support service providers.
  • Build and maintain strong partnerships with key stakeholders in the health sector to support Club initiatives.
  • Lead the development, implementation, and compliance monitoring of the Club’s Mental Health Policy.
  • Ensure timely and accurate reporting aligned with statutory requirements and best industry practices.

Qualifications and Experience

The ideal candidate will possess the following minimum qualifications and experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, Social Work, Counselling, Psychosocial Counselling, Mental Health Studies, or a related field.
  • Registration with a recognised professional counselling or psychology body.
  • At least three (3) years of experience providing counselling or psychosocial support.
  • Demonstrated experience working with youth, athletes, or within high-performance environments.
