Role Overview: Project Officer

Reporting To AHDI Executive Director

Key Responsibilities for Project Officer Jobs in Lusaka

  • Project Implementation & Coordination: Plan and manage daily field activities, ensuring timely execution aligned with the project work plan. Collaborate with partners, government agencies, and community structures to support project goals and assist in stakeholder training sessions.
  • Monitoring & Evaluation: Collect and maintain accurate data on project activities and outcomes. Conduct regular field visits to monitor progress and compliance with M&E frameworks, providing actionable feedback for continuous improvement.
  • Stakeholder Engagement & Advocacy: Facilitate meetings with government officials, civic leaders, and community groups. Strengthen partnerships with disability rights organizations and promote inclusion within local development policies.
  • Financial & Administrative Support: Collaborate with finance teams to monitor project expenditures and uphold financial accountability. Support procurement, logistics planning, and prepare periodic project reports.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by supervisors to support project success.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Diploma in Physiotherapy, Special Education, Social Work, or Development Studies; a bachelor’s degree is an advantage.
  • Specialized knowledge in working with children with cerebral palsy.
  • Minimum of three years’ experience in disability, rehabilitation, development, or social work sectors.
  • Proven ability to work effectively with community volunteers and multiple stakeholders, including government ministries and departments.
  • Strong communication skills in English and at least two local languages.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work both independently and within a team.
  • Experience managing institutional donor funds and understanding of budgeting and financial management.
  • Proficient computer skills and readiness to work beyond normal hours when necessary.
