About the Role – Project Architect Jobs in Zambia

The successful candidate will be responsible for adapting an existing reference design to meet the unique topographical and client-specific requirements of the new site. This role demands a strong architectural background and the ability to manage both design and construction phases effectively.

Key Responsibilities

• Design Adaptation: Analyze and modify existing architectural drawings to align with site conditions and project briefs.
• Documentation: Prepare detailed working drawings, door and window schedules, and architectural specifications using AutoCAD and Revit.
• Statutory Approvals: Engage with local authorities to obtain necessary building plan approvals and permits before construction begins.
• Site Supervision: Conduct regular site visits to monitor architectural works, ensuring compliance with approved plans and quality standards in blockwork, plastering, painting, and glazing.
• Coordination: Collaborate closely with Structural and MEP Engineers to maintain architectural integrity and resolve design conflicts.
• Contract Administration: Review material submittals and approve samples related to architectural work.
• Project Closeout: Produce accurate As-Built architectural drawings upon project completion.

Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Architecture from a recognized institution.
• Registered Architect with a valid practicing license in Zambia.
• Minimum of 5 years of post-graduation experience in architecture.
• Strong proficiency in AutoCAD and/or BIM software such as Revit or ArchiCAD, with demonstrated ability to work with existing CAD files.
• Experience in securing Local Authority building plan approvals.
• Previous experience supervising commercial or public building projects is highly advantageous.
