Mindolo Ecumenical Foundation (MEF), a faith-based, non-denominational Pan African Centre of Study, Worship, and Reflection located in Kitwe, Copperbelt Province, Zambia, invites applications for the position of Production Coordinator. This role is critical to advancing MEF’s mission through sustainable agricultural development at the Mindolo Training Farm (MTF) in Kalulushi.

About the Production Coordinator Role

The Production Coordinator will lead the organic farm operations, overseeing both crop and livestock production with a focus on ecological and sustainable methods. The successful candidate will drive the farm’s transition to a profitable, self-sustaining model by December 2026, ensuring financial viability while supporting MEF’s broader community and environmental goals. This full-time position reports directly to the Executive Director.

Key Responsibilities for Production Coordinator Jobs in Kitwe

  • Manage daily operations of Mindolo Training Farm as an organic production, training, and demonstration facility.
  • Ensure sustainable and efficient farm practices using organic and ecological techniques.
  • Develop and monitor performance indicators; conduct quarterly evaluations to assess progress.
  • Oversee farm finances, focusing on income, expenses, and achieving financial sustainability.
  • Lead and supervise farm production staff, fostering accountability and teamwork.
  • Increase animal production (cattle, pigs, goats, sheep, chickens) while maintaining health and organic standards.
  • Expand organic crop production including vegetables, herbs, green manures, and cover crops.
  • Implement the “family plots” model as a demonstration tool for students and small-scale farmers.
  • Manage continuous production of bio-fertilizers, compost, and Azolla.
  • Develop and execute marketing strategies for MEF’s organic products.
  • Manage donor-funded production projects and provide timely reports.
  • Collaborate with the Training Coordinator to support students’ practical farm work.
  • Perform additional duties assigned by the Executive Director with a proactive, hands-on approach.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Full Grade 12 School Certificate/GCE.
  • Degree or Diploma in Agriculture, Agronomy, Animal Science, or related discipline.
  • Proven practical experience managing a diverse farm with emphasis on organic and sustainable agriculture.
  • Strong skills in planning, budgeting, team supervision, and reporting.
  • Experience with livestock and crop production, composting, and organic inputs.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience training or working with students is advantageous.
  • Commitment to ecological principles, community development, and agricultural innovation.
