Kariba Harvest Limited is currently inviting applications for a Procurement and Logistics Officer position based in Siavonga, Southern Zambia. This full-time role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute directly to the efficiency and success of our farm operations by managing procurement activities and overseeing logistics coordination.

About the Role

Reporting to the Accountant and Operations Manager within the Finance Department, the Procurement and Logistics Officer will be responsible for sourcing goods and services essential to our agricultural operations. The successful candidate will ensure seamless procurement processes and effective logistics management to support timely delivery of materials and supplies.

Key Responsibilities for Procurement and Logistics Officer Jobs in Siavonga

• Coordinate the procurement of feed, farming inputs, equipment, fuel, spare parts, packaging, and other operational requirements.
• Obtain and evaluate supplier quotations, negotiating competitive prices, quality standards, and delivery terms.
• Prepare purchase requisitions and purchase orders while maintaining accurate procurement records.
• Collaborate with the Stores Department to verify stock availability and ensure timely receipt of goods.
• Plan and coordinate transportation of feed, harvested fish, equipment, and materials, including cross-border shipments.
• Manage import and export documentation such as permits, customs paperwork, and clearance with border authorities and freight forwarders.
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, transporters, and logistics service providers.
• Ensure all procurement and logistics activities comply with company policies and internal controls.
• Prepare regular reports on procurement status, supplier performance, and logistics movements.

Qualifications and Experience

• Diploma or Degree in Logistics, Procurement, Supply Chain Management, or a related discipline.
• At least 2 years of relevant experience in logistics, procurement, or supply chain roles.
• Professional certifications such as CIPS or ZIPS are advantageous.
• Experience in agriculture, aquaculture, manufacturing, or FMCG sectors is a plus.

Skills and Attributes

• Strong negotiation, planning, and organizational capabilities.
• Good understanding of import/export regulations and customs procedures.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and ERP or accounting systems.
• High integrity, meticulous attention to detail, and ability to perform under pressure to meet deadlines.
