About the Principal Infrastructure Project Auditor Role

The Principal Infrastructure Project Auditor will oversee ICT project audits and provide consulting services to ZESCO’s management and staff, including support to the ICT Project Management Office. The position focuses on supervising staff performance and developing risk-based annual internal audit plans to ensure effective governance and control of ICT projects. The role plays a critical part in supporting management to achieve organizational objectives through robust project and risk management.

Key Responsibilities for Principal Infrastructure Project Auditor Jobs in Zambia

  • Identify and evaluate auditable areas within accountable units and develop risk-based internal audit plans for ICT projects.
  • Prepare and participate in Entry and Exit Conferences for audit projects.
  • Develop audit objectives, detailed plans, and tailored audit programs aligned with the Internal Audit Charter and audit priorities.
  • Supervise internal audit staff in planning, executing, and monitoring audit assignments.
  • Review audit work to ensure compliance with professional standards and company policies.
  • Prepare clear, concise, and accurate audit reports for management review.
  • Maintain productive relationships with clients and team members through effective communication and collaboration.
  • Facilitate audit processes by resolving issues and addressing staff inquiries during audits.
  • Support staff training, performance evaluation, and professional development initiatives.
  • Represent internal audit on project teams and external engagements as delegated.
  • Perform administrative duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Qualifications and Experience Required

  • Full Grade 12 School Certificate.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Computer Engineering, Project Management, Business, or equivalent professional qualifications such as ACCA, CIMA, or CA Zambia.
  • Additional certifications like CISA, CIA, CFE, or recognized Project Management certifications are advantageous.
  • Minimum of five years’ experience in auditing ICT project management or internal/external auditing.
