About the Poultry Attendant Role

As a Poultry Attendant at Speciality Eggs Limited, you will play a vital role in the daily care and management of layers and pullets. Your responsibilities will ensure the health and productivity of the flock while maintaining strict biosecurity and cleanliness standards. This position requires attention to detail, physical stamina, and a commitment to teamwork.

Key Responsibilities for Poultry Attendant Jobs in Lusaka

• Feed and water layers and pullets according to established schedules.
• Collect, grade, and accurately record egg production data.
• Monitor flock health closely and report any signs of disease or abnormalities promptly.
• Maintain optimal housing conditions including lighting, ventilation, temperature, and cleanliness.
• Clean and disinfect poultry houses, equipment, and surrounding areas regularly.
• Assist with vaccinations, beak trimming, bird transfers, and other flock management tasks.
• Ensure biosecurity measures are followed; remove and dispose of mortalities according to company procedures.
• Maintain daily records and report issues related to stock, feed, water, and equipment.
• Perform additional duties as assigned by the farm supervisor.

Qualifications and Requirements

• Minimum of Grade 12 certificate.
• Certificate or Diploma in Poultry Production, Animal Science, or related field is an advantage.
• Demonstrated knowledge of poultry husbandry, flock management, and biosecurity practices.
• Physically fit with willingness to work weekends, public holidays, and shifts as required.
• Honest, reliable, and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively within a team.
