This full-time role is based in Lusaka, Zambia, and requires a dynamic leader with extensive knowledge in fintech, payments, or banking operations. The successful candidate will own the overall POS business strategy, focusing on expanding the merchant and terminal network while ensuring the stability and high performance of POS infrastructure. This position demands strong stakeholder engagement, operational oversight, and team leadership to sustain transaction growth and system uptime.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and execute strategies for POS network growth and operational efficiency.
• Supervise deployment, maintenance, and operational management of POS terminals.
• Build and maintain relationships with banks, aggregators, merchants, and service providers.
• Monitor transaction performance to ensure optimal uptime and reliability.
• Lead and mentor POS Operations and Sales teams to meet business targets.
• Ensure adherence to internal policies and relevant regulatory standards.
• Analyze market trends to identify expansion and growth opportunities.
• Prepare detailed reports and performance dashboards for senior management.
• Resolve escalated merchant, technical, and operational issues efficiently.

Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, IT, or related field.
• Grade 12 Certificate.
• Five to eight years of experience in fintech, payments, banking, or digital financial services.
• In-depth understanding of POS systems, merchant acquiring, and payment ecosystems.
• Proven leadership in managing operational or technical teams.
• Strong skills in stakeholder management and relationship building.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and operational management abilities.
• Effective communication, reporting, and presentation skills.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, technology-driven environment with competing priorities.

Preferred Additional Qualifications

• Experience managing large-scale POS networks or payment infrastructures.
• Familiarity with Zambia’s or regional digital payments regulatory frameworks.
• Background working with banks, payment aggregators, or fintech providers.
• Professional certifications in Project Management, IT, Operations, or Financial Services.
• Expertise in system uptime optimisation, payment switching, or transaction monitoring platforms.
