Role Overview

Key Responsibilities for Pharmacy Technologist Jobs in Lusaka

• Dispense prescription and over-the-counter medicines accurately and safely
• Provide professional advice and counselling on medications and minor health concerns
• Ensure strict compliance with pharmaceutical regulations and quality standards
• Manage pharmacy inventory, including controlled and specialized medicines
• Conduct basic health screenings such as blood pressure and diabetes checks
• Support purchasing, inventory control, and merchandising activities
• Supervise and mentor pharmacy support staff to maintain high performance
• Maintain cleanliness and proper storage conditions, including temperature control
• Monitor and manage expired or near-expiry stock to reduce waste
• Contribute to enhancing overall pharmacy operations and customer satisfaction

Qualifications and Skills

• Full Grade 12 Certificate
• Diploma in Pharmacy from a recognised institution
• Registration with the Health Professions Council of Zambia (HPCZ) is mandatory
• Ability to work extended hours as needed
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
• Excellent communication and customer service skills
• Competent in basic computer applications
• Organised with effective time management abilities
• Leadership experience and supervisory skills are advantageous
• Previous experience in a retail pharmacy setting is preferred
