About the Pharmacy Cashier Role in Lusaka-Chalala

This position requires a professional who can efficiently manage sales transactions, maintain store organization, and support pharmacy operations. You will work closely with pharmacists and pharmacy technologists to contribute to the overall success of the store while upholding confidentiality and pharmacy policies.

Key Responsibilities

• Greet and assist customers courteously and professionally
• Process sales accurately using the POS system, including cash, credit, and insurance transactions
• Open and close the pharmacy on time and ensure the premises remain tidy and well-stocked
• Restock and price shelves, take inventory, and participate in monthly stock takes
• Build merchandise displays and hang sale signs or decorations as needed
• Manage weekly banking of sales and maintain adequate change in the cash drawer
• Answer customer inquiries or direct them to the pharmacist when necessary
• Manage and reconcile petty cash and cash drawers, ensuring accurate sales receipts
• Report any operational issues promptly and work collaboratively to meet sales targets
• Assist pharmacy staff with additional duties related to pharmacy operations
• Submit weekly and monthly management reports

Requirements for Pharmacy Cashier Jobs in Lusaka-Chalala

• Full Grade 12 Certificate
• Diploma in a sales-related field is required
• Minimum of two years’ experience as a retail cashier or in a similar sales role; pharmacy cashier experience is an advantage
• Basic computer skills and familiarity with POS systems
• Strong mathematical abilities
• Customer satisfaction-oriented with excellent communication and time management skills
• Ability to work long hours and shifts in a 24-hour store environment
• Flexible schedule and a positive attitude with a willingness to learn
• Residency in the Chalala area off Shantumbu Road is required
