As a pharmacist at CURE International, you will oversee comprehensive pharmacy operations, ensuring efficient and compliant management of medicines and related services. Your core duties will include:

  • Managing daily pharmacy workflows to maintain regulatory and institutional compliance.
  • Controlling procurement, storage, dispensing, and strict handling of controlled substances with accurate documentation.
  • Monitoring stock levels and expiry dates to reduce wastage across pharmacy and hospital wards.
  • Leading periodic medication disposal exercises in coordination with laboratory and ward teams.
  • Investigating medication errors and implementing corrective actions to promote safety culture.
  • Conducting annual forecasting and quantification of pharmaceutical and laboratory commodities.
  • Sourcing and ordering pharmaceutical products from approved suppliers, balancing cost and quality.
  • Performing quality assurance checks on incoming products before dispensing.
  • Handling import permits for international donations in collaboration with regulatory authorities.
  • Managing patient medication records via the Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system and processing ward requisitions.
  • Participating in ward rounds with clinical teams to provide pharmaceutical expertise and support patient care planning.
  • Screening prescriptions to prevent drug interactions and medication-related risks.
  • Leading hospital-wide pharmacovigilance activities, including staff training and adverse drug reaction reporting.
  • Preparing pharmacovigilance reports and supporting medication safety monitoring and evaluation.
  • Ensuring pharmacy operations comply with regulations from ZAMRA, ZEMA, HPCZ, and other authorities.
  • Keeping current with pharmaceutical laws and standards, and participating in audits to improve practices.
