Role Overview: Payroll Specialist Jobs in Lusaka

As a Payroll Specialist, you will be responsible for managing the entire payroll lifecycle and ensuring full compliance with statutory requirements for multiple clients. This includes handling multicurrency payrolls and guaranteeing accurate, timely payments while maintaining excellent client relationships.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage end-to-end monthly payroll processing, including accurate calculations of basic pay, overtime, and allowances for various clients.
• Prepare, file, and remit statutory returns on or before deadlines to relevant authorities such as ZRA (PAYE), NAPSA (pension), and NHIMA (health insurance).
• Conduct payroll simulations, gratuity calculations, and ensure compliance with all gratuity provisions.
• Act as the primary contact for clients and employees, addressing complex payroll inquiries with clarity and professionalism.
• Maintain productive relationships with local labor officers, ZRA, NAPSA, and the Workers’ Compensation Fund Control Board (WCFCB).

Candidate Profile

Essential Qualifications:

• At least 1 to 3 years of experience in payroll processing and statutory HR compliance management.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel for payroll register compilation and data reconciliation.
• Excellent communication skills, capable of explaining complex local tax and employment laws to foreign clients in straightforward terms.

Desirable Attributes:

• Degree or diploma in a related field.
• Experience with localized payroll software.
• Previous experience managing payroll for multiple client accounts.
