About the Role: Operations Supervisor (Ndola)

The Operations Supervisor will be responsible for overseeing daily fleet operations, ensuring efficient coordination between drivers, operational staff, and management. This position plays a critical role in maintaining high standards of service delivery, compliance, and operational excellence across our transport activities.

• Supervise and coordinate daily transport and fleet operations to optimize efficiency.
• Monitor truck movements, dispatch schedules, deliveries, and turnaround times to ensure timely service.
• Oversee drivers, driver assistants, and operational staff to maintain discipline and performance standards.
• Verify that all vehicles have valid and complete documentation prior to dispatch.
• Track driver attendance, compliance with company policies, and overall conduct.
• Collaborate with Fleet Managers on truck availability, maintenance schedules, and breakdown resolutions.
• Control fuel consumption, trip expenses, and management of driver funds.
• Ensure accurate completion and submission of trip documents, proof of delivery (PODs), vouchers, and reports.
• Address operational challenges promptly with effective solutions.
• Maintain clear communication channels with clients and internal stakeholders.
• Ensure adherence to company Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), safety protocols, and transport regulations.
• Prepare comprehensive daily, weekly, and monthly operational reports for management review.

Qualifications and Experience Required

• Diploma or Degree in Logistics, Transport Management, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related discipline.
• Minimum of 2 to 3 years’ experience in transport, logistics, or fleet operations.
• Proven track record supervising drivers and operational teams.
• Strong understanding of fleet operations and transport documentation processes.
• Experience with cross-border transportation is an advantage.

Additional Requirements

• Residency in Ndola, Kitwe, or the Copperbelt region is mandatory.
• Membership with the Zambia Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport (ZCILT) is preferred.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word.
• Demonstrated leadership, communication, planning, and coordination skills.
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
• Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet deadlines.
• High integrity, accountability, and attention to detail.
• Capability to motivate and manage a team efficiently.
