About the Operations Intern Role

The Operations Intern will be based at our Sakania office in Ndola and will play a key role in overseeing the smooth operational flow of our fleet. This internship involves supervising drivers, managing loading procedures, and ensuring efficient transport operations from start to finish. The position offers practical experience in tracking shipments, coordinating logistics activities, and maintaining operational documentation.

Key Responsibilities for Operations Intern Jobs in Ndola

• Monitor and track shipment status in real-time using company tracking systems and software.
• Provide daily updates and tracking reports to clients and internal teams on fleet status and shipment progress.
• Communicate effectively with drivers to coordinate loading plans, transportation schedules, and operational requirements.
• Prepare and dispatch accurate loading orders to drivers promptly, ensuring compliance with logistics procedures.
• Facilitate loading, border crossings, offloading, and delivery to minimize delays and optimize efficiency.
• Identify, report, and resolve shipment issues by liaising with drivers, carriers, and stakeholders.
• Generate and maintain operational documents such as manifests, shipment records, receipts, and Proof of Delivery (POD).
• Receive, scan, and submit trip receipts and PODs for supervisor review and record-keeping.
• Process demurrage requests according to company policies and contractual terms.
• Maintain accurate shipment tracking and operational records.
• Assist in preparing operational reports and analyzing fleet performance.
• Collaborate with the operations team to enhance tracking procedures and logistics efficiency.
• Ensure full compliance with logistics, transportation, and company regulations.

Qualifications and Skills Required

• Diploma in Transport and Logistics.
• Previous experience in logistics, transportation, or a related field is preferred.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and dynamic work environment.
• Proficiency in using tracking systems and logistics software.
• Detail-oriented with a strong commitment to accuracy.
