Position Overview: Operation Officer

As an Operation Officer, you will play a critical role in managing daily transport activities to ensure the smooth and timely delivery of goods. You will be responsible for planning truck allocations, overseeing driver routes, and maintaining operational efficiency while safeguarding company assets and reputation.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan and allocate trucks, drivers, and routes on a daily basis to guarantee timely loading, dispatch, and delivery of goods.
• Monitor fuel consumption, mileage, and maintenance costs per trip; investigate any irregularities such as excess fuel usage, vehicle breakdowns, or pilferage.
• Prepare comprehensive daily and weekly reports including trip sheets, logbooks, waybills, maintenance records, and incident reports to support Finance and Compliance departments.
• Coordinate effectively with customers, warehouses, and milling plants during loading and offloading processes.
• Address client complaints promptly and ensure high standards of service delivery to protect and enhance the company’s reputation.

Qualifications and Experience

• Diploma or Degree in Transport, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or Business Administration.
• Minimum of three years’ experience in transport operations is preferred.
• Good knowledge of the Zambian Road Traffic Act, RTSA regulations, and familiarity with fleet management systems including GPS tracking.
• Strong organizational, reporting, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
• Impeccable personal integrity with no history of fraud or misconduct.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, fleet management software, and report writing.
