Afya Mzuri, a respected Zambian non-governmental health organization established in 2003, is currently offering multiple contract jobs in Lusaka Zambia and other provinces. Renowned for its expertise in behavior change, community empowerment, and knowledge management, Afya Mzuri is committed to advancing Zambia’s national health agenda by fostering healthy behaviors through innovative, participatory approaches.

Available Contract Positions in Zambia

We invite qualified, motivated, and experienced Zambian nationals to apply for the following six-month contract roles (April – September 2026), with potential renewal based on funding availability:

Community Mobilization Officer (2 positions)
- One position based in Southern Province
- One position based in Copperbelt Province
IT Officer (1 position) – Lusaka
Finance Manager (Consultant, 1 position) – Lusaka

Community Mobilization Officer – Key Responsibilities and Requirements

Purpose: To engage and mobilize communities to participate in behavior change and development initiatives aligned with Afya Mzuri’s programs.

Facilitate community participation in project activities through meetings, trainings, and sensitization sessions.
Collaborate closely with community leaders, community-based volunteers (CBVs), and local structures.
Collect and report accurate community-level data to support monitoring and evaluation.
Promote safeguarding, inclusion, and community ownership of interventions.
Perform additional lawful duties as assigned.

Qualifications and Experience:

Diploma or degree in Social Work, Development Studies, Public Health, or related field.
2 to 3 years of experience in community-based NGO work.
A diploma in Nursing or Clinical Officer qualification is an advantage, especially for community health projects.

Skills: Strong community facilitation and mobilization skills, excellent interpersonal and communication abilities, fluency in local languages, and cultural sensitivity.

IT Officer – Role Overview and Requirements

Purpose: To provide ICT support ensuring reliable, secure, and efficient IT systems for Afya Mzuri’s operations.

Maintain IT infrastructure including equipment, networks, and systems.
Deliver user support and troubleshoot technical issues promptly.
Ensure data security and conduct regular backups.
Support digital tools utilized in program delivery.
Undertake other duties as assigned.

Qualifications and Experience:

Diploma or degree in Information Technology or a related discipline.
Minimum of 3 years’ experience in IT support roles.
Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.

Finance Manager (Consultant) – Responsibilities and Expertise

Purpose: To oversee financial management and strengthen internal controls ensuring accountability across Afya Mzuri.

Enhance financial systems, internal controls, and compliance across the organization.
Review and support financial operations including payments, cash management, and record keeping.
Assist with budgeting, financial reporting, and ensure timely donor report submissions.
Manage payroll processes in compliance with statutory requirements (PAYE, NAPSA, etc.).
Conduct financial reviews, reconciliations, and risk assessments regularly.
Provide mentorship and capacity building to finance staff.
Support recruitment and organizational structuring of the finance function where needed.
Advise on financial policies, planning, and sustainability.
Undertake other relevant financial strengthening assignments.

Qualifications and Experience:

Degree in Finance or Accounting; ACCA or CIMA certification is advantageous.
At least 5 years of relevant experience, preferably with NGO financial systems.
