Role Overview: Monitoring and Evaluation Coordinator Jobs in Lusaka

The M&E Coordinator will oversee the coordination and implementation of activities aimed at enhancing routine data systems and promoting effective data use at district and facility levels. This role ensures the continuity and retention of clients on CAB for PrEP by supporting high-quality, timely reporting in DHIS2, SmartCare, and pharmacovigilance platforms. The coordinator will facilitate data-driven program monitoring and continuous improvement across supported health facilities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Data Systems Strengthening: Implement and coordinate activities to reinforce DHIS2, SmartCare, and pharmacovigilance data systems at district and facility levels, including trainings, mentorship, and data review meetings.
  • Routine Monitoring and Reporting: Provide technical support and oversight to project teams and partners to ensure accurate, complete, and timely data collection and reporting aligned with project and national timelines.
  • Data Review and Utilization: Organize regular data review meetings, prepare performance summaries, document action points, and track progress on improvement initiatives to enhance client retention on CAB for PrEP.
  • Capacity Building: Coordinate logistics for trainings and mentorship visits, maintain training records, and provide user support on reporting tools and data submission processes.
  • Documentation and Communication: Maintain organized records of all activities, prepare coordination updates and reports, serve as the primary contact for district and facility focal persons, and facilitate effective communication between stakeholders.

Required Skills and Competencies

  • Proficiency in DHIS2 and SmartCare platforms with strong knowledge of national health information systems.
  • Experience in Results-Based Management and performance monitoring.
  • Background in HIV/AIDS, PrEP programs, or public health initiatives.
  • Strong skills in data analysis, visualization, and the use of data for decision-making.
  • Ability to provide capacity building and mentorship to facility and district teams.
  • Excellent coordination, documentation, and stakeholder engagement capabilities.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Public Health, Statistics, Monitoring & Evaluation, Social Sciences, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3 to 5 years of experience in Monitoring and Evaluation within health or development programs.
  • Experience supporting decentralized teams and community-based programs is highly desirable.
